Book Review of “The Story Keeper” by Kelly Rimmer

This brand-new novel (published July 21, 2026) features two stories—one in the past and one in the present. Fiona Winslow finds herself the owner of her childhood home, a place rumored to be haunted. While others speak of ghostly happenings, Fiona remembers it only as the home where she grew up.

As she sorts through the belongings of her late Uncle Tad, Fiona discovers a box filled with multiple copies of The Midnight Estate by an author she has never heard of. Who wrote the mysterious novel, and why are such strange things happening inside the old house? Before long, Fiona begins to wonder if the stories of hauntings might be true after all.

I highly recommend this well-researched and cleverly crafted novel to adult readers for its content. Trigger Warning: Domestic violence and abuse.
